VDM The Vitra Schaudepot: Architecture, Ideas, Objects

The Vitra Schaudepot: Architecture, Ideas, Objects offers an illustrated introduction to the Vitra Design Museum’s Schaudepot and its extensive collection of modern furniture design. Designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron, the building opened in 2016 and houses a permanent exhibition featuring more than 400 significant pieces of furniture from the 19th century to the present.

Through architectural photographs, drawings, collection images, chronological overviews, and short essays, the publication explores the building, its collection, and the curatorial ideas behind the objects on display. It serves as an engaging guide to the history of furniture design and the work of the Vitra Design Museum.
